Trekking & Hiking on the Amalfi Coast

For nature lovers and hikers you must not miss the pristine paths of the Amalfi Coast. The Lattari Mountains, up to Campanella Point, constitute a territory that is one of the most suggestive and celebrated of the world. It is an impressive show and imposing view of precipitous cliffs above the "pending waves". The area of the Lattari mountains provides a hike that can offer a unique vacation experience: the itinerary unwinds in the silence of the mountainous calm, with scenery of haunting panoramas, far from the coastal congestion and the ribbon of asphalt highways. The trails run across places of incomparable beauty, rich with history and culture, and are not particularly difficult: Hikes can accommodate all levels, even those with a minimum of experience. Groups of young people that are nature lovers organize ecological walks for interested tourists to rediscover the origins of the earth and the sea. The walks lead over paths where the colors, the perfumes and the odors have lost each real relationship with nature, the mother nature.

The Natural reserve of the "Ferriere" Valley , example of exceptional beauty, will catch you for its colors, vegetation, alternating zones typical of the tropical countries with those more relatives of our Mediterranean stain. The present beauties in the natural reserve were signalled in 1710 by the botanical Micheli, that speaking of the rare fern described the giant leaves of it, undivided, that reach also the 180 cms of length, an unique rarity in Italy.

From Agerola to Positano (Path of the Gods)

Written by sunland,

" God of the Paths" is the trail long 7 Km going from Agerola to Positano on the steep cliffs that characterize the area. Along this path the view is simply breathtaking. The few houses along the path only serve to emphasize the wild and untamed countryside. The flora is varied and in the spring and summer the area is awash with color. In the autumn you see the locals with their weathered olive skin out collecting mushrooms and a special type of rowan berry - about the size of a small plum. The sea is several hundred meters below you and constantly seems to change color from this height. The path takes you along the majestic cliffs. You need to be in reasonable shape and wear sensible walking shoes if you want to walk all 7 km. Luckily on the way you can fill your water bottle, which is necessary even outside the heat of summer.

From Maiori to Mount Falerzio (Avvocata Sanctuary)

Written by sunland,

This is a sacred and profane itinerary and includes the breathtaking panoramas over the Gulf of Salerno and over Amalfi Coast as well as a divine element favoured by the long ascent on foot to the Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady. Then, the wide areas over the sea naturally make the visitor think to the Infinity. Madonna Avvocata Sanctuary, on Falerzio Mountain on a rocky wall, can be reached using a mule track that leaves from the Abbey in Cava (this is a longer but less difficult way) or through a long staircase from Maiori. Each Monday after Pentecost, pilgrims from Cava and Maiori arrive to the Sanctuary to celebrate their worship
